4th Grade News
Dear Parents,
Happy March! I saw some robins in my yard, and my daffodils are popping forth from the ground. Hopefully the cold and snow are over.
The children are learning about Lenten tradition in Religion. They have learned how the way of the cross began and how we observe. The children have also made their Easter confession. We have also been learning about social justice and being content with what we have. We will be studying Holy Week later this month.
In math the work is becoming more challenging. I have encouraged the children to slow down and take their time. There are still a couple of students who need extra work on their multiplication tables. This month we will be learning how to add and subtract positive and negative numbers, long division, function rules, how to measure and make angles, and we will continue to add, subtract, and reduce fractions.
In Missouri History we will be learning about the westward expansion and Missouri’s importance during that time period.
In Language Arts we will be working on the Knights of Columbus Essay. Everyone received a letter with the information. Remember they must be turned in no later then April 16.
Thank you for your donation toward the class auction basket. Our theme this year is Easter Extravaganza. We have a super basket filled with anything you could want for Easter. It even includes a visit from the Easter Bunny on Easter morning.
